Brooklyn is a perfect place to stay if you are not looking for a standard hotel. It is beautiful, friendly, quiet, interesting, quirky and personal, within walking distance of central Melbourne. The atmosphere is relaxed and congenial. There is a garden to sit in and birds to listen to.
Brooklyn is a big old house on the city edge of Fitzroy. You can walk through parks or take a tram a few minutes from the door, to city venues, stations and airport connections.

Fitzroy’s great mix of people makes this one of the most interesting parts of Melbourne to hang out in.  The galleries, bars, restaurants and specialist shops of Gertrude, Brunswick and Smith Streets, are in our neighbourhood, and Universities, hospitals and museums are nearby.

Brooklyn offers seven guest rooms. Upstairs there are two queen rooms with private balconies and bathrooms.
On the ground floor we have two queen rooms, a double, a twin and a single bedroom, with shared facilities.
Extra beds can be added if required.

Room Details:

The two Queen Ensuite rooms upstairs feature enormous bedrooms, each with high ceilings and adjacent bathrooms. Each has a light and airy private sitting room with wood-panelled ceilings, polished floors, and large opening windows looking out on to George Street and across to the city.

The two Queen rooms downstairs at the front of the building look out to a leafy verandah where you can sit and relax, and watch the locals meander by. These huge bed-sitting rooms share a bathroom off the greenhouse walkway and garden.

The spacious standard Double, Twin and Single rooms lead directly onto the greenhouse walkway and garden.

and cafés, then up to Brunswick Street bars and restaurants or
down to Smith Street – the old working-class Fitzroy.

The city is only a 15-minute stroll through the Fitzroy Gardens.
You can also take the local tram into the city, to the National
Gallery, the Melbourne Concert Hall, theatres, Federation Square,
Victoria Market ... or down to St Kilda beach.

Wander through old Fitzroy, Carlton and the Treasury Gardens
…a delight at all times of the year. Enjoy the Exhibition Gardens,
the Museum of Victoria and Children’s Museum. Play a game of tennis
in the local courts or watch the Australian Open at the Tennis Centre,
stroll to the MCG or alongside the Yarra River in Birrarung Marr
Riverside Park near Federation Square and many other major sports venues.

as well as hotel, home and guest house.
Over the years Brooklyn has become the Melbourne base for a
extraordinary group of visitors and travellers.

We invite you to become a Brooklyn visitor
when you are in Melbourne. We think it will be one of those places
